What is a biometric web based time and attendance system?
Our service is an employee web portal biometric time and attendance with fingerprint capabilities. Your employees will punch IN and punch OUT using their fingerprint on a USB fingerprint device connected to a pc via the internet. This gives you the option to collect time and attendance information from employees in different locations and monitor them using any computer with Internet access. You can later print this information or export it to Excel, PDF or ASCII and have accurate information in just seconds.
Which hardware supports software?
The system supports a large variety of USB fingerprint readers.
Are annual maintenance, service, warranty payments required?
No, they are not. The system identifies employees within seconds without requiring user name or other means.
How long does it take to register a new employee?
The registration process for new employees is particularly important and should be carried out patiently, however, it takes approximately one minute.
How do I determine which finger to register?
The system displays recommendations for the preferable finger to ensure one hundred percent success in user identification.
How can I be sure that a new employee's details have indeed been inputted?
At the end of the registration process, press the "trial" button that provides a check for correct registration. This button may also be used to instruct user on operating the system.
How many times must I put my finger on the reader for the system to identify it?
If the registration process was performed correctly and the finger is placed on the reader correctly there is no need to place the finger again. The system identifies the user immediately. Less that once in every hundred times the fingerprint requires rereading.
What can I do if the software does not approve an employee's fingerprint?
In case the software fails to approve an employee's fingerprint:
- Re-store the employees fingerprint to provide an updated sample.
- Add more fingers to the sample. Scan at least two fingers to create alternative fingerprints that may be certified if necessary.
- If the former solutions fail (hard to believe, but in rare cases of a person without fingerprints) this particular employee only may register attendance with a password.
Is this system installed and operating at other companies?
The system is being used by a large number of users. The website provides several examples.
How do I get started?
Enter the name of the company, receive an e-mail with a URL to download a small file or use the website , and follow several simple user registration instructions.
What happens if Internet connection or connection to the network server fails?
When communication to the Internet of central server fails for any reason, the service is inoperable. This is similar to a situation when regular phone service fails. Web communication is very reliable nowadays and communication fails quite rarely.
Can I install this software on my network or on more than one computer?
Yes, it can be installed on any computer with a network browser and Internet connection. Its relatively low cost justifies installation on every floor, division or branch of the organization.
Can more than one fingerprint reader be connected to a single computer?
Yes, up to 8 fingerprint readers can be connected to a single computer, including different types of readers.
What is the maximum distance from the computer the fingerprint reader should be placed?
The reader should be within two meters of the computer, but using special amplifiers it could be placed even 100m away.
What about confidentiality?
The system does not save user names with their fingerprints. Every finger is numbered and it is impossible to tell whose finger it is.
Is the fingerprint in civilian format?
Yes, the fingerprint is not stored as an image form but as a 128 digit number.
At what speed does the system identify a user?
Average user identification time is approximately 2 seconds.
Is the number of users limited?
The number of users is unlimited.
Could information leak out to strangers?
Information is encrypted within the system and is protected by the world's most advanced systems.
Can the software calculate wages?
Yes, the Internet attendance clock software displays an Excel based wage calculation table including overtime.
What happens if an employee forgots to register when entering or leaving?
The system administrator may perform manual correction of entry or exit by using the Edit Employee Time option. The administrator can check whether an employee forgot to register entry using the employee status report.
How does the system calculate overtime?
Overtime is calculated by the time specifications prepared for each employee and calibration of the time calculation in the application option. When overtime is calculated on a daily basis and the time definition shows that the employee must work 8 hours (defined through employee groups), the first 8 hours are calculated as regular time while the hours above those 8 are calculated as overtime.
Can vacations and sick leave be entered on the website?
Yes, a manager can enter an employee's sick leave or vacation using the "edit employee's time" option.
